Sorry, but I'm really too curious: what kind of paper do you use for watercolors?
Oh man, I don’t even use the correct paper haha! That last piece I used just an A3 sketchbook with 110GSM acid free paper. But most of the time I use really thin, like scrapbook paper because I never want to draw anything on my good paper in case I ruin it, but the stuff I end up drawing on the bad paper I end up colouring and liking haha!
Just added a disclaimer to the side of my tumblr in regards to my drawings. I know it seems a bit over the top, but my artwork belongs to me and this is what I do for a living. If you repost my work, save it or copy it - even when you’re not claiming it as your own - it’s not okay, and yes I will be quite angry. For some other artists on tumblr, drawing may just be a hobby or a way to pass time (which is more than okay, there is some truly talented people out there and I really admire them!). But for me, this is my work. My job. My life. And when people steal my work, that’s taking away a part of me and my life.
So please think before you right click and save from my blog. I’ve watermarked most of my images now, so hopefully this problem will die down soon,
wow... I just happened upon your site for another and you are extremely talented. I am so sorry you work is being posted without your consent... your stuff is great can't wait to take a look at your posts.
Oh my gosh. I'm so glad you followed me, or I would've never been introduced to your art. You have no idea, I am an artist, but not like you. Your drawings are so simple, yet so...different and beautiful, they seem so easily sketched. It just blows my mind, so inspiring. Now I want to work my butt off to practice so maybe I can sketch as you do. Not exactly, because I'd never steal someones style...but...wow<3
Oh wow, thank you so much! I can’t even believe that I’d inspire someone else, because I feel that I’m just starting out, you know? I have a long way to go, I’m still learning myself!
To be honest, there are a lot of “dream” jobs that I would love to have. I would love to be Mary Poppins at Disneyland in California but I’m not british or cool enough to impersonate Julie Andrews. But realistically, I would love to have my own illustration company/freelance type of thing. I’m finding more and more however that I’m becoming interested in the fashion world. I would secretly love to have my own high end brand, or something really kooky and amazing like Alexander McQueen. Either way, I just want to get my ideas and vision out there.
I was just look through your artwork and WOW!
Thank you so much! I’m still in awe of your work, honestly I love people that can create - or recreate - atmosphere in a photo that puts you right into a scene. You definitely have a talent there, my friend!
I'm pretty confident that either way you decide to go, you'd rock it. Your style fits in perfectly with Disney yet at the same time you'd have such a wonderful flare with the style that you have if you did fashion illustration. Haha and thanks for clearing that up! Who knows, maybe I'll find myself wandering about LA sometime. If I do, I'll know who to hit up for sure! :) Ps - loving your new page setup!
Aw wow, thank you! I think one of the things that I’ve really pushed with my artwork is being versatile with my style, and having a few different styles under that as well. Now I just gotta get my technique up a bit and polish things off!
Thanks dude! Actually somebody pointed out to me that it was a bit boring, so I thought I’d spruce it up a bit and get a logo of sorts happening!
Yes, I agree with the part about Janet being the dorky girl. I can really identify with that. :/
Same here! I’m a big fan of her Dream Street/Control/Rhythm Nation era because she just seems so approachable and down to earth. I love her later stuff, but more so this period of time when she could’ve been anyone like you or me.
Thank you so much! I came across your tumblr from a reblog, and honestly your stuff is so inspiring. I love fashion illustration more and more these days, and I’m actually about to start an assignment in this area so I’ll definitely be quoting you as an inspiration!
